EDIT: Well CRAP. My day off turned into a day at work. I may not be able to document a ride in one of these anyway. Really sorry.
I’ve got the day off the day after tomorrow, should I try to hitch a ride in one of them? Take som photo/video?
!!!error: Indecipherable SUB-paragraph formatting!!!
I know a lot of car girls/guys hate electric cars and self driving cars.. But the way I see it.. well it means more years of petrol to put in our classic cars.

Get some decorations, a boom box, and some people and turn one into a mobile disco.

![]() 09/18/2017 at 12:59 |

I would, it’s a neat opportunity. I have nothing against automated and/or electric vehicles.
![]() 09/18/2017 at 12:59 |

yes! Do it! I wouldn’t get in one without a full racing helmet though.... just in case it goes all Kinj- like

Oh, do! I came across one of these in London last week but sadly it was having a hissy fit and there was a notice saying they hoped to get it running later in the day which didn’t suit me.
Then again Paris has large scale automated vehicles - two of the Métro lines are driverless.

The small town I live IS a student town.. but they don’t party THAT hard.. :P
![]() 09/18/2017 at 13:04 |

Not that much you can do to mess with it really, there’s security guards along the route to make sure nobody tries something “funny” :P

I’ll see what I can do. The mayor tested it today, said he’d probably do a few more runs in it while it’s here, if I’m lucky I might get a short interview or something.

I’ve got a hockey helmet, think that’s good enough?
![]() 09/18/2017 at 13:07 |

I would take a ride too unless your town has a lot of tall bridges or something that the thing could fall off. If that’s the case I wouldn’t.
![]() 09/18/2017 at 13:09 |

Then it’s on.. the “open for public” rides should start at about 0730 on wednesday morning, I’ll make sure to be there early. Maybe I’ll even manage to interview some of the people there.

Im pretty sure if I did it I would dress up like the kid from christmas story...all the padding I could get, and a race helmet
Then you would for sure get that news interview.

We’ve got a lake about 300 metres from the route it’s taking, but no tall bridges.

You should run straight at the front of it and see what it does.

They did that today during the “non-public” tests.. it simply comes to a halt. I won’t do any jackass shit.. I’ll just get some pictures and see if I can get a few minutes to interview one of the people from Easylife.
![]() 09/18/2017 at 13:22 |

Yea, but you couldn’t get on or off, because, you know....
You can’t move your arms.

Could be. I bloody love Fargo (the movie) though.. but I guess that’s because I’m norwegian and they kinda talk english the way I do :P

Yeah that area is like Norway II: the sequel.
![]() 09/18/2017 at 13:26 |

If one looks at driverless in terms of having a sentient being behind the wheel, the Seattle area has had driverless cars on the road for years.

“Yah, you betcha”
![]() 09/18/2017 at 13:29 |

Seeing as this is in Norway it’d be whoever insured the “bus” I’d just the douche who fucked up and got in the way.

My sister moved to Park City a few months ago with her boyfriend from Boise.. The first time I met him he said “Wow. ALL Norwegians “sing” when they talk.. I thought it was just [my sisters name].

In terms of me being bowled over by a car, these worry me a lot less than local “Drivers”.

just adding more data points to their testing process.
since this is a reply to a reply and nobody will see this:
I like electric cars. They’re quiet and emit less heat and so they’re less unpleasant to be around especially in a dense areas. And as a driving experience the instant torque and lack of engine noise/vibration is nice too.
If I were in charge I’d apply congestion charges to the city center and find some way to incentivize public transportation and a electric/hybrid rideshare system.
